Lakewood cannot get rid of Section 8. The best course of action is to partner with CMHA to vigorously enforce the rules of the program.

How can Lakewood get rid of Section 8? It seems as if there are so many awesome people in this town and a only handful of RiffRaff.

The decline of the East End has been an on going process, historic "Bird Town" was built by Union Carbide & Lake Erie Screw employees, there are still reminents of the history dotted though-out the neighbor hood, for there is still hope. I applaude your diligence and devotion to the neighborhood. It will once-again find it's niche.

"I’ve noticed a slow and steady decline in people’s respect of one another in my neighborhood. There has been a rise in instances of groups of kids walking in the streets, cussing at cars, littering and basically needing an ass-beating from their parents."

Parent(s)? Where? I see these groups of kids walking thru other people's yards, and sometimes sitting on people's porches that they don't even know. Littering, cussing, etc. Not looking forward to another Lakewood summer in the Madison Park area...

Good insight. I wrote a letter to the city a couple years ago about adding trash cans along Franklin, but nothing ever came of it. I think I need to go to the city council in person.

it is a somewhat new trend in history that so many people can buy homes so young. In the future the idea of buying a house to sell it for profit even with a twenty or thirty year mortgage will evaporate. people will live in their homes until they die or pass it on to one of their kids. So...they won't have to worry about property values rising or falling so much.

Sounds like the Mayor may tell the City Prosecutor to take it easy on the folks with snow ban tickets.

Just thought I would state that with respect to the liquor permits, the reason they were deferred was probably the Law Department and the Police had not completed their reports on the establishments that is required for obtaining the liquor permit from the state.

Thanks for calling my attention to this typo. I copied the verbiage directly off of the Structural Balance Report. It's now correct.

I would think that "educated citizens" would know how to spell PERSONNEL. It's not "personal", but "personnel".
