First trip to Lakewood Police Department a success
Tuesday, December 25th, 2007I visited the Lakewood PD today to review the Media Log Report — which is freely available to any member of the public. The lady who provided the binder was very helpful and explained how the information is generated.
I was surprised by the sheer volume of police activity that takes place on any given day in Lakewood. There is a ton of data available. It’s all a bit overwhelming. It would more helpful to everyone, if it were available electronically, via the Internet. It’s very tedious to review line after line of incidents to try and pick out patterns or areas of concern.
The Records Department is only open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. So, I’ve got to try and figure out a way to access the data during the workday — which is not easy, right now.
